When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

Oh second life... Why must you be so complicated?

Where's the big red "EASY" button when I need it?! I feel pathetic admitting to this, but I have the patience of a flea!!! When I first started my Second Life experience, I x'd through all of the tutorials almost as fast as they could pop up and thought, honestly, that I would be able to play with it and figure it out myself. However - that was not the case...

I began by thinking it was an independent move to tell an approaching "mentor" to get lost. Apparently, that was my first major faux pas. When attempting to make my "avatar" thinner and blonder, I ended up with this three-skirt-wearing, mildly plump brunette with tufts of red and purple hair! (Okay, this is SO not The Sims...) Evidently, I aborted my SL mission after the whole funk makeover mess.

Although my aggravation and frustration won me over in the last round, I am confident that with the help of some SL-savvy friends, and a hint of perseverence, I too will become an active part of this computer-based world.
